This is the first summer in 11 years that we haven't vacationed with my niece and nephew from the East Coast. So I thought it would be nice to profile them in Sketch #487 from Scrapbook Challenges.

SBC - Sketch 485
As a massive heat wave rolls into Southern California I thought this baseball picture of my brother and his family attending an afternoon ballgame in DC was appropriate. This is Sketch #485 from Scrapbook Challenges.

Happy Birthday Card
I made this quick and simple card for my BFF from high school. She always said that I had a thing for the "color" black...I have no idea what's she's talking about. Enjoy!

Tim Holtz - 12 Tags of 2016 (Jun)
Here is this month's tag for Tim's challenge and what a challenge it turned out to be (i.e., many versions into the trash). Since I did not have the dapper design die I had to go searching my Silhouette library for something manly...a golfer. Next the plaid and what to do without the striped stencil...a ruler and markers. Definitely a dad worthy tag.

SBC - Sketch 484
Here is the last sketch of the month from Scrapbook Challenges. If you live anywhere in Southern California I would encourage you to check out the Aliso and Woods Canyon Wilderness Park in Orange County. We went on a 26 mile bike ride over Memorial Day weekend and had a blast!

Wedding Card
I found the template for this card on Pinterest which eventually led me to The Serendipitous Stamper's website. All of the pink accents were recycled from the original wedding invitation. The sentiment, embellishments, paper and embossing are from SU.

SBC - Sketch 483
For sketch 483 from Scrapbook Challenges I used photos from a recent air show and paired them with some png files of airplanes that I found online along with some clouds that I substituted for the paint splatters.

SBC - Sketch 482
For last week's sketch from Scrapbook Challenges I substituted a painted doily as the center focal point in lieu of the real thing. The background paper is a sewing pattern which just happened to match the color of the doily. Pictured is one of my BFFs from high school that I hadn't seen in 14 years.

SBC - Sketch 481
For this sketch from Scrapbook Challenges I wanted to feature these really cool jellyfish photos taken at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach. I thought the title "Wanderlust" was perfect.

Wishing all the Mothers out there a Happy Mother's Day. Happy Mother's Day Mom, I'm glad you liked your card!

Tim Holtz - 12 Tags of 2016 (May)
For this month's tag from Tim I used a Victorian era printable off of the internet as the focal point and a flower punch in lieu of the rosette die.
Another Cascading Card
As you can see I'm currently obsessed with the cascading card from Dr. Sonia. This is the card that I made for my sister-in-law.

SBC - Sketch 479
As many of you know the weather across the country has been a little crazy lately and we've had our share as well. For sketch 479 from Scrapbook Challenges I wanted to feature this snowy photo taken earlier this week.

Cascading Card
We were invited to a birthday party and specifically told not to bring any gifts. ....so what's a crafty girl to do other than make a fabulous birthday card? I found the idea for this cascading card on Pinterest so I have to give a shoutout to Dr. Sonia. The only change I made was to add a solid panel to the front and back of the card. When folded flat it fits in a 6x6 envelope. All the products used are from SU.

SBC - Sketch 477
For this week's sketch from Scrapbook Challenges I wanted to scrapbook something wintry. Although we haven't had much of an El Nino winter, we did manage to get some Spring snow last week. I hope you're enjoying your Spring.

Tim Holtz - 12 Tags of 2016 (Apr)
Well this month's tag from Tim was by far the most labor intensive and time consuming tag that I've ever created. Since I did not have the pre-made mosaic pieces I created my own using magazine clippings coated with crystal effects. The rooster is from Silhouette. Of course, in the end it was all worth it.

Welcome Haddy!
Today our two girls (with 4 legs each) are going to meet their new their cousin Haddy. She is a miniature schnauzer originally from Oregon and got to fly to California with her new mom to start her new life. We thought it would be really cool to welcome her to the family with this dog themed card using supplies from SU.

SBC - Sketch 475
For this month's sketch from Scrapbook Challenges I used this photo of my husband's +90 year old Aunt Rita in Ireland. (I believe she may actually be 94 ???) Doesn't she look awesome? I found the cat png file on the internet.

SBC - Sketch 474
For this week's sketch from Scrapbook Challenges I thought it would be nice to celebrate Spring with some bright colors. Liam, my husband's great-nephew, is pictured here with one of his faithful companions...Charles. He celebrated his first birthday on March 14th.

SBC - Sketch #473
Here is this week's page for Sketch #473 from Scrapbook Challenges. The focus of this page is a construction photo from the California High-Speed Rail line just outside of Fresno, CA. The papers are mostly SU and the embellishments are png files found on the internet.

Tim Holtz - 12 Tags of 2016 (Mar)
For this month's tag from Tim, I used cardboard to create the texture and tore away pieces to expose the corrugation. For the texture within the butterfly I opted to use an embossing folder and markers. Since my butterfly die was so large I had to turn the tag horizontally which I believe is a first for me.
