I recently subscribed to Scrapbook & Cards Today magazine and used this sketch for what I'm calling the Anytime Card. If you haven't checked out their website you're missing out. This year I'm participating in an Adopt-A-Teacher program and I thought this would be a cute card to welcome my teacher back to school. The sketch for the card is from Stick It Down.

Tim Holtz - 12 Tags of 2015 (Sep)

For this month's tag I wanted to use orange and maroon to kick off the college football season (Go Hokies!). In lieu of texture paste I used a paisley texture plate and created an embossed effect. The butterfly stamp is from 2001 and one of my favorite retired classics. While I love the look of vellum, I would probably use acetate next time to preserve the beauty of the stamped images underneath.

Happy Father's Day Sunday! Here is this week's card for Operation Write Home's sketch #229. I used Stampin' Up's "Beautiful Wing's" embosslits die for the butterflies and the hexagon embossing folder for the background.

Happy Sunday! Here is my card for Operation Write Home's sketch #228. For this card I used two watercolored butterflies from the Stampin' Up! "Papillon Potpurri" set that were left over from yesterday's tag project. For the sentiment I used a trimmed down Project Life card. ...a slight twist on the sketch.

Tim Holtz - 12 Tags of 2014 (June)

Better late than never. Here is my take on Tim's tag for June. I used one of the butterflies from Stampin' Up's "Papillon Potpourri" and a coordinating punch. The sentiment is from the "Elegant Beginnings" set.

OWH - Sketch #224

Happy Mother's Day! Here is my card for Operation Write Home's sketch #224. Almost all the products used including the butterfly punch are from Stampin' Up! The rhinestones are the exception.

Birthday Butterflies

No sketch today, just a birthday card for my sister-in-law. The butterflies are recycled from a Thank You card that she gave us months ago. I had no idea that the newspaper DSP in the background was discussing butterfly caterpillars until I posted the photos.

Technique #7 - Kissing

This month we used the kissing technique to create a two-toned pattern on the butterflies using two inks and two stamps. The technique works best when you use a fairly solid stamp and a complimentary background stamp to create the pattern.  Instructions are at the bottom of the post.  (Please note: the sentiment is not from Stampin' Up!)
