Happy Bird-Day

I made this card for my sister-in-law on her 60th birthday. The papers are from Cocoa Daisy and the alpha stamps are from SU. "bird-day" is my own brush lettering.

Happy Birthday - Hummingbird

This cute little guy was created using a 3-step polymer stamp set from SU where each layer of the bird was stamped in a different color with a slightly different image.

Tim Holtz - 12 Tags of 2016 (Apr)

Well this month's tag from Tim was by far the most labor intensive and time consuming tag that I've ever created. Since I did not have the pre-made mosaic pieces I created my own using magazine clippings coated with crystal effects. The rooster is from Silhouette. Of course, in the end it was all worth it.

OWH - Sketch #225

Happy Sunday! Here is my card for Operation Write Home's sketch #225. This week I'm using a new 2014-2015 hostess stamp from Stampin' Up called "Hello Love".

Tim Holtz - 12 Tags of 2014 (Mar)

Here in California we are getting our first major storm of 2014. So Tim's tag for March was perfect timing (i.e., we can't wait for Spring). I used Stampin Up's "Botanical Gazette" paper with the bird as the base for my tag and added feathers from the "Fine Feathers" set (both retired). I applied several colors of SU markers to the bird image and used the SU air spritzer with Tim's burlap stencil for the pattern at the top of the tag. The yarn and the ribbon are SU as well.

Tim Holtz - 12 Tags of 2012 (April)

For this month's tag I once again used all Stampin' Up! products.  I started by inking and embossing a chipboard bird with burgundy ink and classy copper emboss powder.  I then used a flower garden textured impressions embossing folder on the background paper and embossed the raised portions of the image with clear emboss powder.  I sponged over the image with old olive, distressed the edges and finished with crumb cake ink.  I completed the tag by adding  hodgepodge hardware, a trinket key and seam binding ribbon.  The background paper is called well worn.
