...On Your Special Day

Here is my card for Stick It Down's July Card Sketch. The paper is from Cocoa Daisy and the sentiment is from SU and embossed on vellum.

Easter - Butterfly Variations

I made these three cards using the exact same techniques, just different colors. I started by clear embossing the flower images on water color paper. I then washed each card with a mixture of colors. The butterfly was stamped on vellum and colored on the back with markers.

Brush Lettering - Hope

I found this quote from Penny Bolder, a Cancer Survivor, on the University of Michigan's website. I thought it would make a wonderful card for someone going through a tough time. ...my first brush lettering project on vellum.

OWH - Sketch #251

For this week's sketch from Operation Write Home I used one of SU's classic stamp sets from 2001, "Wonderful Wings". I stamped the dragonfly on watercolor paper and applied Rich Razzleberry ink with a blending pen.

OWH - Sketch #174

Happy Memorial Day weekend and thanks to everyone who visited my blog and participated in Operation Write Home's Blog Hop. For this week's sketch I wanted to do something with a summer or beach theme and found this starfish stamp from Stampin' Up's "Seaside" set. I used mostly scrap cardstock, a piece of torn vellum, and an embellishment from the retired hodgepodge hardware set.

Embossed Embossing Swap

For this month's technique swap I used versamark to highlight one of the embossed chevron rows and then applied clear embossing powder.  Then I  stamped the shell background using the By the Seashore set and covered the image with a piece of vellum to tone down the dark color.  The crab came from the same set and was cut out by hand.

Earthy Birthday Card

My friend Raquel (aka Rocky) is celebrating a birthday today.  She's a designer by profession so I hope this meets her standards.  She works for the National Park Service so I was going for an earthy look.  I used scraps from my mini book project, a crumpled piece of vellum and a small square of sticky-back canvas.
