Sketch to Scrapbook :: Grid Collage

As you can see I've been making my way through Shimelle's sketches which are all due at the end of the month. For sketch #35 I choose 3 camera photos featuring our dogs and a really cute dog embellishment. Hope you're enjoying the last Saturday in June.

Sketch to Scrapbook :: More is More

Last night Mountain Hardware held their Annual Customer Appreciation event. We had a great time listening to music and hanging out with friends and family. For this layout I used Shimelle's sketch #46.

Happy Monday. Here is my layout for Shimelle's Sketch to Scrapbook Page #34. This is my brother and his family ziplining over the weekend.

Sketch to Scrapbook :: Half Page Photo

Here is Shimelle's latest Sketch to Scrapbook #44 page using a large photo as the focal point. I thought this lavender field photo taken at Highland Springs Resort yesterday would be perfect for the sketch and the first day of summer.

Sketch 33

Here is my page for Shimelle's latest Sketch to Scrapbook Page :: Putting One Photo Centre Stage. For this layout I used a black and white photo of the Tokyo skyline with a focus on the Tokyo Skytree. I found the silhouette of the tower and the map of Tokyo online and used Stampin' Up! MDS software to create the page.

Sketch 32

Here is my scrapbook page for Shimelle's Sketch to Scrapbook page titled Working With Two Smaller Photos. For this page I chose two photos from a recent trip to Japan and paired them with really bold background paper similar to the samples on Shimelle's page. I used Stampin' Up's MDS software to create the page and then brought it into PSE11 so I could add the embellishments and drop shadows.

Sketch 31

Happy Thanksgiving! Here is a quick layout for Shimelle's Sketch to Scrapbook page, "Showcase a Photo with Borders". I substituted a shoelace for the borders  and added a little bit of paint behind the photo. The papers and the title stamp are from Stampin' Up!

Sketch 30

Here is the most current Sketch to Scrapbook page from Shimelle. The focus of this page is "A Design for Landscape and Portrait Photos." For whatever reason I really struggled with this page although I was initially really excited about all of the vibrant colors in the photos. Anyway, the papers, the stitching and the washi tape are all from Stampin' Up! and created using My Digital Studio software.

Sketch 28

Here is my layout for Shimelle's Sketch to Scrapbook Page, "A Vertical Design for Smaller Photos." Since we've been listening to water dropping helicopters for the last three days, I thought fire photos would be perfect for this layout. If you'd like to see a related news clip about the fire you can click here.

Sketch 26

The focus of this Sketch to Scrapbook page from Shimelle is "Scrapbooking with a Favorite Patterned Paper." I used Stampin' Up's Sunset Serenade, applied a few layers of coordinating paper and finished it off with a sentiment.

Sketches 21, 22 and 23

I am finally caught up with all of Shimelle's Sketch to Scrapbook Pages and  I actually got a nice little tweet back from her after my last post. Of course, I'm now noticing that Shimelle is behind by a month (oh no).

Sketches 18, 19 and 20

While I was on vacation Shimelle released a ton of Sketch to Scrapbook Pages. Fortunately I have a ton of great pictures to scrap. I used Stampin' Up's MDS Software and digital products to create all three pages.

Sketch 18 :: Adding a Sunburst to Your Page
Sketch 19 :: A Design for Photo Booth Strips
Sketch 20 :: A Twist on Patterned Paper Quadrants

Sketch 17

Here is my interpretation of sketch #17 from Shimelle. The focus of the sketch was to line up small embellishments but I chose to follow the sketch exactly and use small photos with a few beachy embellishments.

Sketch 16

Here is my take on sketch #16 from Shimelle.  The focus of this sketch is scrapbooking smaller photos. The papers are from Stampin' Up's "On the Go" collection and many of the embellishments are from the "Fan Fair" collection.  Happy 6th Birthday Nathan!!!

Sketch 15

Here is the latest sketch from Shimelle. The focus of this sketch is layering scraps of paper. For my page I chose three pictures from a trip to the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. If you can't tell from the photos, the views are absolutely amazing. All the papers and the ribbon are from Stampin' Up!

Here is this week's sketch from Shimelle. The theme being circles and an oversized photo. For this page I chose one of the first photos that I processed using Radlab in PSE11. The patterned paper and ribbon are from Stampin' Up!

Sketch 13

Here is Sketch 13 from Shimelle. The theme for this week's Sketch to Scrapbook page is "Scrapbooking with three 4x6 photos." I knew immediately when I saw Shimelle's layout that I wanted to scrap the Matchbox Twenty  (MB20) concert we went to in March. The papers and the washi tape are Stampin' Up!

Sketch 12

The theme for one of Shimelle's sketch to scrapbook pages this week is "Scrapbooking with both square and standard photos". So, I thought it would be a great opportunity to pair some instagram inspired photos with one really old photo.  The layout was created using MDS software. Happy Birthday Patrick!
