Golf Card

It's taken me a while to post this Father's Day card from last month but better late than never. The golfer is a cut file from Silhouette and all the other products are from SU.

Tim Holtz - 12 Tags of 2015 (Jun)

Happy June. May was a very busy month for us so I haven't posted in while but I couldn't miss Tim's June tag. The focal point for this tag was a Silhouette coffee cup image called "thanks a latte". It actually came with the flower image and then I added the corrugated sleeve. For the background I used a woodgrain stamp and rotated the image to create the grid pattern.

SBC - Sketch #409

Happy Friday! Here is this week's sketch from Scrapbook Challenges. The silhouette of my niece was created using PSE11.

Tim Holtz - 12 Tags of 2014 (May)

Here is this month's tag for Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of 2014 challenge. To me this was quite a departure from Tim's previous tags and even more of a challenge for me since I did not have the shadowpress folder or a wide selection of embellishments. So with that I had to do some improvising. I started by cutting the word "beautiful" with my silhouette in two colors of cardstock with the idea that one would be placed in the background to create the shadow effect and it actually worked.

Tim Holtz - 12 Tags of 2014 (Jan)

Happy 2014 and welcome to my blog. This is my third year participating in Tim's monthly tag challenge. For those of you that have been here before, you know that I'm a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and I try to mimic Tim's techniques using  all SU products.

For January's tag I cut a layered clock using my silhouette and placed it over a piece of aluminum HVAC tape that I ran through my woodgrain embossing folder. The base for the tag is black card stock and distressed vellum stamped with a world map. The numbers are white rub ons. If you'd like to see last year's tags click here.

**Bonus Tag** - 12 Tags of 2012

Although I loved the original tag I made for September, I really wanted to try the foil technique. So, I went searching through the garage and found some foil tape.  This turned out to be really awesome stuff.  I didn't have any alcohol ink so I used black StazOn which I managed to spread over the foil before it dried. I also had a leftover silhouette image from August's tag that I really wanted to use but I was having a hard time seeing the image when I placed it directly on the foil.  To solve the problem I chose a piece of burlap ribbon to contrast the hard industrial look of the foil.  Once again all the paper and embellishments are from Stampin' Up!.  The foil and burlap ribbon are not.

Tim Holtz - 12 Tags of 2012 (August)

This month's tag involved using a cameo or silhouette type image with a frame.  I started with basic gray textured card stock and used a texture plate in my big shot to add a slightly raised grid pattern. I then embossed portions of the grid with black embossing powder. The silhouette and the frame were cut out of basic black cardstock with my silhouette. I then used several stampin' up! punches to create the flowers and the petals. I finished the card by sponging silver ink over the frame, the flowers and the rhinestones.

Technique Album Cover Page

A few weeks ago I presented the first of twelve techniques that will be introduced over the course of the year and the idea of the 6x6 technique album.  Below is the cover page to my technique album.  I downloaded the Rehotalko font from the web and used my Silhouette to weld the individual letters together.  As you can see further below I experimented with several font  types.
